Established in 1786, the Milan Chamber of Commerce is an independent public body that supports the growth and development of the local economy, by offering assistance and services toover 332,000 companies in its province.
The Milan Chamber of Commerce activities include:
- registering and monitoring all businesses in the Milan province
- regulating the local market
- promoting the development of the local economic system
- entrepreneurial and professional training;
- promoting the improvement and quality of local infrastructures
The Milan Chamber of Commerce is ruled by a Board of Directors, appointed by trade associations, consumers’ associations and trade unions.
The board - together with the Chamber of Commerce’ Chairman - define the strategic guidelines for the Chamber’s activities, while the General Secretary is responsible for managing and running the Chamber’s organization and structure.
With over 800 employees and a 122 million Euros budget per year, the Milan Chamber of Commerce is organized like a holding , where 8 Special Agencies are entrusted with specific areas of expertise.
They provide quick and flexible responses in the key areas of company development and competitivity such as internationalization, training, quality certification, market regulation, telematic services.
Promos is one of the Chamber’s special agencies and its mission is to help the Milanese small and medium sized companies to access the international marketplace.
